Crazy Week!

Wow Giraffe Team- This week has been a blast so far!


We were able to visit the Tri-Cities Museum & learn about the history of our state and our area specifically!

We also had a 50th day of school celebration- 1950's style! We did 1950's themed math, writing, and reading! It was an exciting day!

Class Dojo

Hi Parents-

I did send an email regarding our class dojo usage. This is a behavior management tool I am using for our class now. I am going to give it a try for our Giraffe Team and see if it works for us! Each student has an "avatar" they can change their avatar at home by logging in.

Your child can log into their account with the username & password I sent home. Please email me if you did not receive one. Also, your child can track their points for certain days.

You can also create a parent login to monitor your child's progress at school! There is a link to this website under "parent links".

Math Test...Moved

Hi Team-

We are moving our math test to Friday 11.8.13 :)

that gives us a bit more time to review!

Things to bring this week...

Candy Buyback: Please bring leftover/extra candy for our candy buyback collection!

Thanksgiving food drive: we need non-perishables for our food drive...it is a class competition! If you see anything on sale or in your cupboards that you won't use, please send it in for families in need this holiday season.

Field Trip & the 1950's

Also- we will be having a 50th day of school party with a 1950's theme. All day. All fun. [but academic of course] Please look for correspondence regarding this party in the folders tomorrow! I may need a few hands with Root beer float making & crafting...I will let you know more about that when I get the schedule together. Start looking for 50's gear for your child to wear to school that day!

Math Test

Our Unit 2 math test is slated for Wednesday 11.6.13. It will cover base 10, expanded form, adding 2 or more 2 digit numbers, money [how to write in dollar or cent form], coin amounts, and money story problems. It's been a tricky unit! Can't wait to see our giraffes rock this test!

Delayed Start tomorrow

School will start at 10:40 as teachers will have professional development. Open door is available to those who need it!
